Fourteen finishes, three buckets.
Hand-rubbed oil on hardwood, sprayed clear lacquer, and painted in our Somersworth shop. The door and the face frame read as one object because they were painted as one object, in one booth, in one pass.
Hand-rubbed oil on hardwood
Oil-finished by hand, one wood at a time. The grain is the finish. Used on case work where the species is the point.
White oak or rift oak, hand-rubbed in penetrating oil. The grain reads warm and open.
American walnut, hand-rubbed in oil. Deep brown, with the variation in the wood preserved.
Domestic ash, hand-rubbed in oil. Pale and even, with a long straight grain.
American cherry, hand-rubbed in oil. Reddish-brown, deepens with light over time.
Sprayed clear lacquer
A satin clear coat sprayed in the shop, on any species. For projects that want the wood to read as the wood, with a protective film.
Satin sheen, sprayed in our booth on any species. A protective film, not a stain. The wood underneath does the talking.
Painted in our shop
Doors, face frames, end panels, and fillers are sprayed in one booth, in one pass, in our Somersworth shop. The door and the frame read as one object because they were painted as one object. Color-matched to Walzcraft Solidtone references.
A clean architectural white. Slight warmth, no blue. The default white for Belle Vie kitchens.
An off-white with a soft cream undertone. Reads warmer than Clapboard in north-facing rooms.
A pale shell tone. The most neutral of the off-whites, with a faint pink-grey lift.
A warm dune neutral. Quiet, dry, the color of bleached grass in late summer.
A light overcast grey, faintly warm. Sits between white and neutral grey without committing to either.
A mid-tone grey with brown in it. The color of weathered ledge on the Piscataqua.
A medium grey, cooler than Granite Coast. Reads as a true neutral in daylight.
A deep weathered grey, the color of pilings after a long season. The Belle Vie dark neutral.
Deep navy with a touch of black in it. Named for the river that runs through this work.
Any color from the Walzcraft Solidtone catalog, or any RAL, Benjamin Moore, or Sherwin-Williams reference, can be matched in our shop as a custom-color line item.
The Sample Box ships three of these, hand-packed in our shop.
